Michelle D’Souza

MDS Fine Art was established in 2011 as an art advisory service for private collectors, corporations, foundations, and interior architectural firms. The firm has developed several modern, post-war and contemporary art collections, in addition to placing numerous public sculptures internationally.

The founder, Michelle D’Souza, has worked in the art world in Japan, the US, and the UK for almost three decades and has extensive knowledge of the art market.

Prior to establishing her own company, D’Souza was a director at Lisson Gallery in London and during her 15 year tenure, she promoted artists such as Tony Cragg, Lee Ufan and Sol Lewitt. She also spearheaded several prestigious museum exhibitions worldwide, including Anish Kapoor’s first seminal exhibition in India. 

D’Souza began her career in Japan organising an exhibition of fibre artist Sheila Hicks’ work in addition to group shows of Aboriginal Art and emerging Japanese artists amongst many others. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Economics from University of Kent, UK and a Masters degree in Arts Administration from FIT, NY.
